Our Committee's are the strength of our organization. We encourage our members to become part of our

Youth Committee

MAKE NEW FRIENDS! The objectives of the Gujarati Youth Committee are to bring together the youths through organized events that reflect the ideas and vision of the young generation and yet be able to maintain our identity, culture, religion and traditions. The members of Youth Committee will provide various services such as Dinner & Dances, Sporting events, and Youth Counseling and Workshops organized through various other recognized institutions. Our vision is to provide many different services.

Senior Committee

Over the number of year’s senior members of our community have benefited tremendously by participating in various activities organized by our Seniors Committee. Our vision is to keep this momentum going, by providing additional services. Our aim is to organize trips, Bhajan nights and setup workshops and seminars relating to the well being of our Senior members.

Mahila Committee

We are looking to setup this new committee to address the needs to our female members.
The aim is to organize activities, seminars, workshops and trips. Through discussions and sharing of knowledge we hope to address some of the needs of our female members.

We are looking for volunteers from various backgrounds that understand women’s issues and are able to assist in setting up this new committee.

Sports Committee

Sports has always been a popular subject and to further increase awareness and involvement of our members, we are in the process of setting up a dedicated Sports Committee. Our goal is to involve our members in different kind of sporting activities such as cricket, soccer, badminton, tennis, volleyball and so on. We aim is to setup different types of tournaments with other groups and communities, fitness programs, family sporting events or just get involved for the fun of it.

Membership Committee

To serve our members effectively, our Membership Committee is available to answer questions relating to membership types, process applications and keep our membership database updated.

Programs Committee

Members of this committee are responsible for organizing various events throughout the year. Some of our large events include Diwali Dinner & Dance, Navrartri, Annual Picnic and other smaller ones such as Ankoot, Jalaram Jayanti, Havans and many more.
We are also in need of volunteers who can assist in organizing these events.

Technical Group

This group has been formed to assist Gujarati newcomers to Calgary. Our goal is provide assistance to newcomers in the areas of education, employment and teething problems in settling down (or help settle down). Assistance will be provided by referring to mandal members working/studying in similar field(s).

We also have Technical Group Committee, Directory Committee, Website Development Committee, Settlement Committee etc.

Funeral Committee

Mandal has an established funeral committee whose members are able to assist in making funeral arrangements. The Committee can help in getting messages out to the rest of the Mandal members, finding Priest to conduct the ceremony as well having contact with local funeral homes.

New immigrants Committee

The Mandal has newly created a New Immigrants Committee. The members of this committee will provide assistance and information to newcomers settling in Calgary. A new comer’s information pack containing details of essential services, schools, government agencies, housing etc will be able in due course to our new comers. If you are newcomer to Calgary or in the processing of arriving in Calgary and require our assistance, please email us at Info@gujaratimandalcalgary.ca with your details.
