Namaste Members

Have you ever felt the desire to help your community, but wondered how you would find the time? While altruism is arguably the best motivator for enlisting with a charitable organization, there are many tangible personal advantages to giving your time for nonprofit work. Whether you are a student, a working professional or a stay-at-home mom, volunteering is an excellent way to gain work experience and broaden your social network.

I would like to recognize following volunteers from our community that did just that recently by participating in Stampede Casino on April 1st and 2nd 2010. Many of you volunteers are always available for Mandal events and thus an inspiration to the new volunteers. There are many other volunteers that were available on standby and I would like to thank you all as well. Keep up the spirit of volunteerism because your Mandal needs you. On behalf of the executive committee, I would like to applaud you all.

The executive is in the process of establishing a certificate and/or award program as well as giving credits for high school volunteers. More updates will be provided once these have been formalized.

Newsletter Submissions:

Please email Gujarati Mandal at info@gujaratimandalcalgary.ca if you wish to submit any news items relating to birth, passing away, engagements, marriages, articles of interests and so on. The Gurjar Sandesh will be published first week of each month, but will have news relating to previous month and any upcoming events etc.

All items must be submitted by 25th day of each month.

Photographs of Events:

Photographs from various events will be posted on our web site in the event gallery. If after viewing the photographs, if any member wishes to have their picture not posted please email the request to: Programs@gujaratimandalcalgary.ca
